Administrative Review Council migration inquiry

The Administrative Review Council is currently conducting an inquiry into the operation of the migration-related provisions within the:

• Administrative Review Tribunal Act 2024 (Cth) (ART Act)
• Administrative Review Tribunal (Consequential and Transitional Provisions No 1) Act 2024 (Cth) (ART(CTP1) Act).

The inquiry will examine procedure relating to Administrative Review Tribunal  review of migration and protection decisions.

The inquiry follows a request from the Attorney-General on 4 March 2025 for the Council to inquire into this matter.

The Council will provide a report on its inquiry to the Attorney-General in December 2026.
